The NCMC Foundation will host its annual golf tournament on Monday, June 10^th at the Greeley Country Club.  The first 60 minutes after a serious injury or onset of illness are critical for initiating lifesaving measures and stabilizing the patient. In fact, studies have shown that 1 out of 10 people who are flown to the hospital would not have survived or suffered long-term disabilities had they not reached the hospital quickly.  North Colorado Med Evac at North Colorado Medical Center is the regional emergency air ambulance for Northern Colorado, Southern Wyoming and Southwest Nebraska. 

Serving a 300-mile radius, North Colorado Med Evac 1 and Med Evac 2 are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week and serve not only highly populated areas but also rural communities.  The helicopters can be airborne within five minutes of receiving a call, with a cruising speed that averages 150 miles per hour. Once on board, the patient can be transported three to four times faster than by ground.

Because North Colorado Med Evac receives no funding from county, state or federal sources, events like the NCMC Foundation Golf Tournament are vitally important to the North Colorado Med Evac program.  All proceeds from the tournament directly benefit North Colorado Med Evac and are used to purchase essential medical equipment for the region’s oldest medical helicopter service.
